Present for more than 60 years, the “Villes et Villages Fleuris” label brings together 4626 municipalities labeled in 2021 throughout France, including 276 “4 Fleurs”.
The “Flowering Town and Village” label rewards the commitment of communities to improving the living environment. It takes into account the place given to plants in the development of public spaces, the protection of the environment, the preservation of natural resources and biodiversity, the promotion of French botanical heritage, the reconquest of city hearts, the tourist attractiveness and citizen involvement at the heart of the projects.
Flower bloom – One, then two, then three… and…
Le Lavandou, driven by a passion and meticulous attention to its environment and its green spaces, which allowed it in this delicate process to achieve the highest distinction of the prestigious label “Flowering Towns and Villages”, symbolized by obtaining the 4th flower.
This resounding success highlights an environmental policy based on the preservation of biodiversity, attention to landscapes, and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life.
Since 2013 (at intervals of three years), the city has presented new actions deployed in favor of the environment and the living environment. This materializes through an exhaustive file and a field visit carried out by the national jury. This three-year evaluation guarantees the maintenance of the prestigious “4 flowers” status for the municipality. A continuing testimony to Lavandou's commitment to environmental development and the exceptional quality of life that it offers to its residents and visitors.
