With the Catherine Gide collection, granddaughter of the painter Théo Van Rysselberghe, daughter of a Nobel Prize winner in literature, lover of painting and friend of many painters, Catherine Gide inherited a rich collection of paintings and drawings, including around a hundred is still in the possession of his children.
From this collection, which will soon be dispersed, the most beautiful pieces are being presented this summer in preview at Villa Théo, the former house-studio of the painter Van Rysselberghe which has become the art center of Lavandou.
