Isidore Rosenstock, of Jewish origin, settled in Lavandou during WWII. Close to his daughter-in-law Simone and her husband Pierre Madier, manager of a delicatessen on rue Jean-Charles Cazin, he leads a more peaceful life.
In addition, he found new subjects to paint here and wasted no time in making hundreds of representations of beaches, village, pointy lovers on the sand, the fishing port and its pescadous.
