Hike from Cuers passing by the Chapelle Saint-Christine, the isolated hamlet of Valcros to visit the Apiers.
Route details
Description
In Provence, all known apiaries (called apiès) are made of dry stone, cut into wide, flat slabs called lauzes.
These niches or cubicles are either small to install hives individually, or large and in this case the hives are housed side by side mainly sheltered from heat or bad weather (wind, rain, etc.) or even from certain predators.
In Cuers, 25 niches built in dry stones from the XNUMXth century, very well preserved; you can also see the ruins of an old hamlet with a threshing floor and icehouse.
