Description

Take the direction of Collobrières and after 1,8 km, at the place called “Les Rolands” turn right and park in the car park near the Municipal crèche.
With the YELLOW markings azimuth 120, follow the tarmac road for 400 m to take the Piste de l'Issemble which starts near the Lotissement de la Joselette.
After approximately 800 m, reach a crow's foot (cistern).
Leave the path which goes up on the right and continue on the main track until you reach the next bridle at hill 128, a place called Gazelle.
Ignore the hunter's path which goes down to the left before arriving at the start of 3 tracks.
Follow the first straight ahead, 3rd on the left, azimuth 100.
At 300 m, in a pronounced curve, spot a steep path, on the right, called Piste des Jeunes, which rises in the pine forest azimuth 160 slope of 8 to 10% to reach hill 259.
Ignore the path which goes down to the left and stay on the path with a slight slope.
Locate the continuity of the YELLOW markings on the path which rises azimuth 114 and reach the Baïsse des Châtaigniers.
Pass in front of a stele erected by the hunters and continue the Chaumadou ridge line (Panorama over the sea) which allows you to reach the Chaumadou Trail below, azimuth 190.
Follow it to the left azimuth 100 and after approximately 1 km reach the Col de Gambet crossroads, at the DFCI barrier.
Cross the Vallon de Gambet road and locate the start of the Piste du Temple, azimuth 120.
Follow this ascending track for 300 m, at the fork stay right and follow the Piste du Temple for 4 km.
Leave the Piste du Temple on the right which continues then go up slightly to the left to take a section of the GR 51.
From the left, follow the ridge line azimuth 270 to reach the highest point at hill 427, “Le Grand Gageai”, superb panorama (be careful to access it, exit the GR 51 and go back and forth for 10 m on the left ). Take the GR RED AND WHITE markings again and go down a steep path for about 1 km and arrive at a crow's foot at hill 273 (hunters' hut).
Leaving the GR 51, turn with the YELLOW markings immediately to the left, azimuth 135 which leads back to Col de Gambet.
Cross the road and take the Chaumadou Trail taken on the way out.
Follow for 3 km and arrive at the Castellas crossroads at hill 252.
Locate and take the ascending path on the right and follow direction “due north”.
Arriving at a crossroads, take the fairly steep path opposite, which goes down to join the Piste de Montaud.
Turn left and follow this track until the crow's feet at hill 128, encountered on the outward journey.
Follow the markings for this route, in reverse direction, to reach the vehicles at the Rolands car park.
